Participants will learn or review three pieces of Bon Taiko repertoire: Hokkai Bon Uta, Sohma Bon Uta, and Tanko Bushi. In addition to practicing the music and style of each piece, we will briefly discuss the history and context of each of the selections. The morning of the intensive will be focused on building comfort and confidence with individual parts. In the afternoon, we will join with the other bon taiko intensive participants to rehearse all of the music together.
