Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Participants will create a short song with a few solo parts in this mini intensive and bring it to your group.

There are 4 different and popular Taiko styles in the US today: Osuwa Daiko, Bon Taiko, Yatai Bayashi and Miyake Taiko. Participants will see the similarities and differences as they play these 4 songs in the class.

Afterwards, Ringtaro will show how to create your solo and/or song.

Participants will also learn a concept about Taiko style, path of Bachi stroke, body flexibility and feelings. These elements make a solo and/or song naturally.

Ringtaro started Taiko drumming when he was 6 years old as a member of a community-based kids Taiko group in Japan. This was a pioneer Taiko drumming group, Osuwa Daiko He joined Ondekoza in 1989 and ran the perimeter of US from 1990 to 1993. After he left Ondekoza in 2000, he moved to Orlando, Fl. for working with Matsuriza and learned Sukeroku style for 7 years. Currently, Ringtaro is learning Miyake Taiko from the Miyake Geinou Doushikai.
