Level up your shinobue playing! This workshop will address several common errors in shinobue playing which can cause limitations towards progressing on the instrument. This includes things like having a "breathy" sound quality, having issues hitting the high register, playing in tune with others, and finger accuracy. We'll also dive into learning a modular length song which can be used as "transitional" music for performances that you can bring back to your groups. Finally, we'll explore "extended" techniques that can add to your fue vocabulary on the types of sounds that are possible on the instrument.

Prerequisites: This class is best for players with a basic understanding of how to play the shinobue, but want to dive in deeper. This is not a class for players who have never tried the shinobue before, or are unable to produce a sound on the instrument. A foundational knowledge of the fingerings for the first octave is required.

Please Bring: Please bring your own shinobue to the class. (If possible, bring either a 6, 7, or 8)
